Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help during one of the most difficult times in our lives.
On July 17 my mom, Jessica Campbell and a close friend were involved in a horrific car accident with an 18-wheeler near Ruston, Louisiana. The details are still unclear, but we do know this: my mom was asleep in the passenger seat when tragedy struck. She woke up moments after the crash, trapped inside the wreckage, confused and in agonizing pain.
By what we can only describe as a miracle, some good samaritans who witnessed the crash rushed in to help. Despite being seriously injured, Jessica somehow managed to pull herself from the wrecked car with her body in shock and adrenaline taking over, she realized she had sustained life-threatening injuries, including her bowels (intestines) being exposed from a deep abdominal cut.
Jessica was airlifted to a hospital in Shreveport, where doctors began emergency treatment. She had to undergo three major surgeries and is currently in the ICU, stable but facing a long road to recovery. Her injuries were:
• A major abdominal laceration
• A deep knee laceration
• Broken toes and a fractured ankle
• A fractured rib
• Punctured lung
• Minor facial burns
The physical pain is unimaginable, but the emotional toll on our family is just as heavy. We’re grateful she’s alive, but the journey ahead requires rehabilitation and extended time away from work.
This GoFundMe is to help cover:
• Medical expenses not covered by insurance
• Rehabilitation and long-term care
• Work leave expenses and household bills during recovery
We are asking for your prayers, love, and any amount of support you can give. No donation is too small and every share helps us reach others who might be able to lend a hand.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Jessica and our family during this painful and uncertain time.
