On the worst day of my life, I woke up in Hawaii and found my best friend had passed away during her bridal shower. The shock and heartbreak of that moment are impossible to put into words.

Later that same day, I suffered a concussion by hitting my head on a marble slab while wrestling to fit her mermaid Finn into my luggage unfortunately close to the marble kitchen counter .

This was especially frightening because I already have an underlying brain injury from asphyxiation seven years ago.

Since this new concussion, life has become incredibly challenging.

I couldn't drive for three weeks, and even now, some days I still can't.

I get hit by terrible dizzy spells randomly which make me nauseous and I'm plagued by seemingly random head throbbing episodes.

I've started calling them concussion attacks.

There are times I think I'm making progress, then I backslide. It's been hard to maintain a normal life, and my ability to work has been deeply affected.
