Hi my name is Krista Spakes. Yesterday I saw a young girl walking down the road as I was on the way to grocery store. I don’t know what came over me but I turned around to offer her a ride. Turns out she had been walking back home from work from the grocery store I was driving too (about 7-8 miles). She didn’t complain one second while I was driving she just said my car is broke down and it doesn’t make financial sense to pay for Uber so I walk to work.. Yall that’s like 14-16 miles A WORK DAY. Can you imagine on top of a work day walking 8 miles to get home ??? Or waking up in the morning to walk in the cold almost 2 hours before work just so you get there on time ? After sharing on social media I had quiet a few ask for her information. Since I didn’t have her information, I went back to the road where I dropped her off in the hopes I would see her again. Low and behold there she was walking with her backpack. What are the chances. She told me it was her birthday that day and she was walking to town (about 5 miles one way) to get herself a gift. While driving her to town I asked her how much it would take her to get back on her feet (and off her feet ) she wouldn’t give me a direct answer. I could tell this is mostly because she didn’t want to ask for anything. She did tell me her car had electrical issues so she wasn’t able to use her lights , blinkers, etc. She also told me she’d need to reinsure it to get back on the road. This Go fund me is just to help a sweet young girl who’s in a hard place. If you’ve ever been in that situation, you know what it’s like to receive help during that kind of time.
