Help Jessica Get a Stellate Ganglion Block

Hi, my name is Jessica. I got COVID in February of last year and lost my smell, but got it back about 2 weeks later. I thought that would be the end of it, but about 2 months after that I noticed my food started tasting weird/all the same. From there, it just got progressively worse. It went from tasting “weird” to tasting like rotting flesh(or what I would assume rotting flesh tastes like based on the smell) Most food you put in front of me smells like it is out of a dumpster that was also housing a dead raccoon. In itself it sounds like such a small thing, but this has controlled my life for the last year. You never realize how much food has to do with every single aspect of your life. Time

with friends, the holidays, family time… it all is planned around food. To top it off, people don’t understand the extent of it, and it’s so unpredictable that it can seem dramatic, but if you’re suffering from it you know just how debilitating it is. For the last (almost) year, I’ve been living on noodles, cheese, and a very select few sweets. I have good days and bad days, but on the bad days I have contemplated completely paralyzing my olfactory nerve to never be able to smell again, just to be able to eat normal food without it tasting like roadkill. That is, until I found Dr Gaskin out of Bryan, TX who is performing a procedure called a Stellate Ganglion Block where there is a very high percentage of people who are being cured of Parosmia I scheduled an appointment with him for March 24th and I am so hopeful that this will work. So hopeful that I CRIED watching someone who just had it done eat a Reese’s for the first time in over a year.

The block is $500 per side, adding up to $1,000. With travel expenses, it is near $2,000 to get this done. While I NEVER expect you guys to help me, and I would figure out a way to do it either way, a couple of you were asking how you could help since you’ve seen me losing my mind over the last year.
