Help Jessica Get a Life Saving Transplant

Hi my name is Angie. I am one of Jessica’s best friends. She has struggled for so long with her health and now is facing her very last treatment option, a double transplant.

The two surgeries she had in Cleveland (to remove her large intestine and then to remove her small intestine) requires Jessica to get 100% of her liquid and nutrition needs from an IV like line that’s in her chest. This Total Parental Nutrition (TPN) is hard on the liver. In Jessica’s case, it has caused liver disease. She now needs a liver and small intestine transplant. The liver disease has made her extremely weak and tired and has turned her skin yellow. Overall, she doesn’t feel good most of the time.

This rare transplant is only performed at very few US hospitals, one being the Cleveland Clinic, which is where she’ll be going for hers. She’s required to have someone with her (it will mainly be her mom, Mary Lou) 24/7 throughout the entire transplant process.
