Just Laid Off from My Job. Please help.

Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share some challenging news and to ask for your support during this difficult time. Recently, I received notification that my current job at BDT will be shutting down after 20 years of assisting the impoverished citizens of Philadelphia. This unexpected turn of events has left me in a vulnerable position, as I have no immediate family or safety net to rely on for support.
In addition to this job loss, I am still mourning the recent loss of both my parents, who tragically passed away in the same month back in 2022. Dealing with their loss has been an immense emotional burden, and now facing the uncertainty of unemployment adds to the weight I carry.
The past four years I have worked as an advocate for the homeless at BDT has taught me that sudden job loss makes me especially vulnerable to confronting a similar fate. While I remain resilient and determined to overcome these challenges, the thought of homelessness is a genuine fear that haunts me. This is the second job in the past 7 years that has gone under. These sadly are familiar challenges I have been presented with and so been fortunate enough to transcend.
That is why I am reaching out to my network of friends and family, humbly asking for your help.
I understand that times are tough for many, and any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping me navigate this difficult period. Your support will provide me with the means to find stability and get back on my feet. Whether it is a financial contribution or sharing this fundraiser with others who may be able to help, every act of kindness is deeply appreciated.
I am grateful for the love and support I have received thus far, and I am hopeful that, together, we can overcome this hurdle. Thank you for taking the time to read my message and considering supporting me during this challenging time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jess
