My name is Sharon Gertz, and I’m raising funds for my incredible sister, Jessica Day. Jessica has always faced life with grace, strength, and kindness—but this past year has brought unimaginable challenges.

Earlier this year, Jessica underwent a much-needed hysterectomy, hoping to finally find relief after years of health struggles. But soon after, her world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since her diagnosis this summer, Jessica has bravely endured a mastectomy and a recent surgery to remove cancerous lymph nodes. Now, she is preparing for the next phase of her treatment, which may include chemotherapy.

Jessica has been on short-term disability during her recovery, but that coverage will end in December (and will then have a reduction in pay), leaving her and her husband, Josh, facing serious financial uncertainty. Before her diagnosis, they had already depleted much of their savings on multiple unsuccessful IVF treatments and two emergency surgeries for ectopic pregnancies—heartbreaking experiences that would test anyone’s spirit.

Despite everything, Jessica continues to fight with unwavering courage. Our goal is to relieve some of her financial burden so she can focus entirely on healing and recovery, not on mounting medical bills.
