Help Jessica and son rebuild after devastating total loss.

I am excited to update everyone that Jessica and Matteo have landed a permanent place to live and have keys in hand. Several people have been reaching out to offer items to rebuild their home which is greatly appreciated. Since the fire took everything, they are in need of anything you can spare or would like to donate. Please contact me or Jessica directly here as we can let you know the drop off site. Jessica would like to thank all of you for your prayers, kind words, and extremely generous donations. This type of support has felt like a warm embrace wrapped around my sister and my nephew in a time they really needed this. I cannot tell you how much each and every one of you have positively impacted this situation. This can be a very isolating experience but you have all made my sister and nephew feel so supported and we cannot thank you enough.

I am requesting help for my sister, Jessica Grey and her son, who has special needs. Please keep them in your prayers. Their home burned down on 4/12/2024 while they were both not home.

They are both safe; during this time her son was previously hospitalized for other reasons and Jessica was staying near him at the hospital in CT. They cannot enter the home to retrieve anything and were told to call the Red Cross for aide and temporary housing. They were renting this home for 12 years, with everything they owned in this home; and now they have to start over. Jessica has been on leave from work while supporting her son’s medical needs out of state at this time.

This home has been deemed a “total loss” and unfortunately there is no insurance coverage for the personal items lost in the home. A single parent with a special needs son trying to rebuild a life will need as much support as her community can offer.

Anyone who knows my sister knows she is the first to offer help to anyone in need. As a mother to a child with special needs, we are praying to find resources that will help support them through this devastating loss.

Her son is due to be discharged from the hospital on Monday with no home to go to, help is sorely needed.
