Help Jessica and Kevin as she battles for her life

When Jessica was 19, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. After some difficulties last year, she was also diagnosed with Kidney Disease. Every night, she would hook up to a machine so that it would do what her kidneys were supposed to be doing. About a week ago, Kevin found Jessica unresponsive in bed in the early hours of the morning. Her blood sugars had bottomed out for an unknown amount of time. After emergency services arrived and took Jessica to the hospital, she spentthe next week and a half in a coma. The doctors told Kevin that Jessica wasn't expected to live. Jessica has since been removed from life support, and is responsive.

Now the JOURNEY begins. Jessica's brain took a huge it. She is having to relearn basic skills as well as her name, age and birthday. She is currently on a feeding tube as she relearns how to feed herself. Jessica has a long road ahead of her, but is fighting every day to get back on her feet and with her family again!

Jessica and Kevin are parents to 2 wonderful kids and are both in the Barber/Hair Stylist profession. This has given them a career of pursuing their passions, but also not a lot of help for retirement and health insurance. Due to COVID, they also took a huge hit on their work this past year. They are going to be looking at a lot of medical bills and rehab and recovery ahead.

Kevin is a barber at The Parlour Barbershop in Evansville. He and Parlour have been giving back to the community and other veterans for years.  He is an ARMY combat vet who served multiple tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom III 2004 and Operation Enduring Freedom 2009. Jessica and Kevin are friends and supporters of the Pipe Hitters Union Motorcycle Club (PHUMC) Brodir Chapter out of Evansville, IN. PHUMC is an International Motorcycle Club consisting of Active/Former and Retired Military, Law Enforcement, Fire Personnel and Government Contractors. The purpose of the Club is to promote true brotherhood and continue to forge the bonds made in service. PHUMC is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization, that is dedicated to raise awareness and support charities such as this.

PHUMC Brodir is looking to raise $10,000 to help Jessica and Kevin on this road to recovery, as she fights for her life. Please help us to reach this goal and provide and serve this Veteran and his family, as he has served his Country.
