Help Jessica and Her Kids Rebuild After Disaster

Hello everyone. My name is Jessica. I am a single mom of 2 with one on the way. Over the weekend, disaster struck in our home. We woke up Sunday morning and came downstairs while getting ready for church to find there was a sewage backup. Water and feces were flowing out of my downstairs toilet and destroyed everything. All furniture and belongings downstairs had to be taken to the dumpster. Thankfully, I had family and friends who rushed over to help dispose of everything and try to clean as best we could.

With my updated lease, the insurance that was being paid was liability only, so nothing personal was covered. I am thankful our clothes and beds were upstairs, but all towels and most blankets were even tossed down to help with cleanup. The property management has no plans of relocating me to a vacant townhome or helping with anything. The health inspector will be called to show it is uninhabitable in its current state. I have had leaks from the upstairs bathroom and mold issues for the past few years with no resolve, so this has just completely displaced me and my girls.

We are thankful to be able to crash with family for a little bit but have to find somewhere else quickly. Anything would help with moving costs and being able to start anew. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and even a thought, prayer, or encouraging word would do great at this moment. I hate asking for help, but tough times are calling for it. Please share!
