Remembering Ellie
Donation protected
Tuesday June 11th Jessica was admitted to SCMC family birthing at 22 weeks 2 days pregnant with a headache and high blood pressure. Later that night she was flown to OHSU in Portland,OR. They met with the NICU doctors and had a very realistic conversation about what to expect. If they can make it to 23 weeks the doctor said based on the ultrasound there is a 1/3 chance that Ellie will survive, also at 23 weeks there is a 75% chance of having severe problems (lung, heart, brain). Jake and Jess are holding onto hope and prayers.
Jessica and Jake have been through so much. She is a cancer survivor and because of this was unable to have biological children. This did not stop her faith and hope in becoming a mother. Jake and Jessica adopted their first daughter Cailin and when Cailin prayed for a sibling they continued their journey to become parents of two daughters. They had embryos made, went through IVF and transferred two beautiful embryos and Ellie stuck! In Jessica's own words "A lifetime of faith, 15 years of love, and a little bit of science." A precious miracle was created and already so loved.
I can't imagine the worries they have and want to help lessen the burden in anyway possible. At this point Jessica and Ellie could potentially be at OHSU until November which as we all know is a huge financial burden on top of everything else. Let's show them our love and support by helping pay some of their medical bills!
