I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Jessi and her beloved dog, Abel.

Abel is a 10-year-old hound mix with the gentlest soul. Jessi adopted him in 2016, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Over the years, Abel has brought so much love, joy, and comfort to not just Jessi, but everyone around him.

But last Wednesday, things took a sudden turn. Abel began showing signs of serious pain, and he became wobbly, lost coordination in his legs, and was clearly uncomfortable. Jessi rushed him to the vet and later to see a neurologist, and today she received heartbreaking news.

The vets believe Abel is suffering from either a spinal disc injury or potentially cancer. To get a full diagnosis and have any hope for treatment, Abel urgently needs advanced medical imaging and care:

This is overwhelming for Jessi to manage on her own. She’s doing everything she can to help Abel, but the costs are simply too high without support.
