Help Jessi Kick Cancer's Butt

To all those who know Jessi and her wife Carmen, they have gone through an excruciating year. One year ago this month, Jessi lost her mother. This was an emotionally traumatic period in their lives. That also put them down to a single income, so Jessi took on another job while first caring for and then grieving for her mother's loss. This was happening all while the family was making decisions about fixing up and selling the house they owned for the past 15 years. Carmen has spent the year tirelessly doing all the physical work on the house that she could manage on her own.

Then, when they were finally ready to sell and move on, Jessi was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and all their plans came to a halt. The diagnosis came in January after months of awful physical pain.

She has had two surgeries to date; the last one was invasive and with complications. Since the surgery, she has also had problems that landed her back in the ER, and she is not able to fully function or run her business. Carmen has had to take on that huge task, as well as her day job and all the rest of the household duties of cooking and cleaning, while she herself is dealing with a broken wrist.

To say that the family is going through some awful and emotionally crippling times is an understatement. At this time, they still don't know the exact type or stage her uterine cancer is in. There isn't much any of us can do for them on that point. But any added stress only hinders Jessi's recovery.

Financially, they need help. That's all there is to it. They should be out all spring doing festivals and getting the house sold, but all they can do right now is wait and see what the diagnosis and prognosis will be for Jessi. That, in and of itself, is the biggest anxiety inducer. Worrying about money and all the costs adding up for medical care just makes it worse.

Please consider donating to help them. Anything helps and will be appreciated by the family. They have always tried to be there for all their loved ones in any capacity needed. This is the time that they need all of you. In lieu of a cash donation, gifts of food are also welcome (homemade, Door Dash, InstaCart, Uber Eats, etc.) Food donations can be sent directly to jessibudiansky AT gmail DOT com.
