Help Jessi and Kenny Through Recovery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Jennifer Kimble, I don't really get into fundraising on Facebook but we have hit yet another curve ball lately and I feel it is time to reach out for a helping hand and also kind of update everyone on Jessi, my sister, as it has been quite the month for her and her family. Both her and Kenny have been off work since the 28th of September and I'm just trying to raise money to help with gas, parking, food, ect.
It started with Jessi going in for what was thought to be a normal auto immune hepatitis flare, but they discovered aneurysms on both the veins and the arteries attached to the spleen. Unfortunately at that time the spleen could not just simply be removed due to pancreatitis that was also causing some pain, low platelets, and the fact her spleen was quite large.
The best choice at the time was to coil the aneurysms in the splenic artery. This ended up being 17 coils.
The coils cut off the blood supply quickly killing 75% of the spleen in about six days, we knew this could happen but it was not fully anticipated to be this quick and cause the amount of pain and discomfort she has been having.
After roughly a week of not getting better Jessi landed back in the ER for a 3rd time with Sepsis and internal bleeding. She was there for a few days getting antibiotics and two blood transfusions and was lucky enough to be home for her youngest 6th birthday party. Just as she finally got a night to relax, she got a call from the surgeon that asked her some questions about how she was feeling, they talked about the pain and the internal bleeding and they have informed her that the best option would be to remove the spleen. She goes in Tuesday for all the set up and tests before surgery so we will know a little bit more tomorrow but we do have an idea that it will be Wednesday the 23rd. With all of that going on anything could really help her out and is super appreciated. This is to help elevate the stress of gas and the parking going back and forth to Cleveland Clinic as well as help with care after she is back home.
Recovery time could be 6 weeks to a few months. Thank you!
