DeJa-Simone Crumpton and Jesse-Ray Leich recently experienced an unexpected and devastating apartment fire in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, NYC that destroyed their home and everything inside. In a matter of moments flames engulfed all of their valuable belongings, instruments, clothes, electronics and memories they've worked so hard to build and collect over the years.

Both DeJa and Jesse-Ray are professional musical theatre performers and many of the items lost were directly tied to their careers. Jesse-Ray is a working Broadway drummer (Mr.Saturday Night with Billy Crystal, MJ the musical, KPOP on Broadway, Hell's Kitchen, &Juliet, etc.) whose custom drumming equipment, important documents, years worth of sheet music & electronics were completely destroyed. DeJa (My fair lady, Summer: The Donna Summer musical) is currently performing with The Book of Mormon Australia and lost luxury handbags and gowns, sentimental photos, an electric bass guitar and amp, audition gear, sheet music, playbills from the past 8 years, etc.

Mostly irreplaceable items lost in the fire were: hand-signed artwork and posters (signed by Zac Farro, Billy Crystal, Jessie Reyez, Remi Wolf and Kehlani), drum cymbals imported from overseas, a fully custom drum set, family heirlooms and limited edition vinyl records that truly held the deepest sentimental value.

Right now, they’re starting from scratch while facing the overwhelming reality of replacing necessities, finding a new space and also recovering emotionally from such a traumatic experience.

We’re raising funds to help DeJa and Jesse-Ray:

• Purchase clothing and basic essentials

• Musical equipment needed for work and income

• Rent and down payment to secure new housing immediately

• Emotional trauma
