Help Jesse & Julianna Doucette
Donation protected
Hey there. My sister-in-law, Jaimie McHugh, and nieces Jesse and Julianna Doucette have been through an unimaginable hell for years, attempting to find a reason for initially Julianna's mystery disease causing seizures and a host of other issues, including being immobile at times and needing maximum assistance often finding herself wheelchair bound. When a rare gene mutation was finally discovered after an exhausting number of tests over the years, it was not long after Jesse, her sister, began developing similar symptoms. Just the other day, after a barrage of tests, it was finally found that Jesse had the same mutation. Both girls are positive for CHD2, and the doctor's exact words to Jaimie & John, their father, were to get your village together for family support. Jesse is still unable to walk since her first seizure four months ago.
CHD2 is incredibly rare and only first discovered in 2013. Symptoms include recurrent seizures (epilepsy), abnormal brain function (encephalopathy), and intellectual disability, along with a host of other issues. These brave girls are keeping strong, but needless to say, they have a lifelong battle with challenges they've never expected to face, and although their mom is fierce in their fight, this beautiful family could use as much support as they can. I am not a Go Fund Me person, but many have asked what they can do. Considering they will need support for the duration of their lives and Jaimie is the first to help anyone and everyone, please find it in your heart to give them a helping hand.
