Jesse's Journey Aggressive Stage IV Cancer

Donation protected

In just a short period of three months my brother and his sweet young families’ lives have been tumultuous, to say the least. After never having been to the doctor for anything more than an ear infection or eye glasses for his 38 years he goes to the ER, is admitted and is diagnosed with Stage IV renal cell cancer (possibly hereditary leiomyomatosis), malignant neoplasm of right kidney, secondary malignant neoplasm of bone, metastatic spinal cord compression, secondary malignant neoplasm of lymph nodes of multiple sites, Cancer/medication related fatigue, secondary malignant neoplasm of muscle, paraparesis, acute and chronic postoperative pain plus many other diagnosis related to the cancer or side effects from the medications.

Since Jan 29, 2021, Jesse has had 3 hospital stays totaling 45 days and now has to see the following specialists: Two Oncologists (one in Houston and one in Tulsa), Urologist, Cardiologist, Physical Therapist, Nuerosurgeon, Nuero-Oncology & Radiation Oncology

Jesse had an emergency laminectomy to relieve the spinal compression, and to have hardware put in to stabilize his spine from where the cancer was destroying parts of his vertebrae.  The tumors in this area placed him in a wheelchair due to the severe and extreme weakness in both legs which requires him to work very hard at Physical Therapy to improve his muscle strength in his lower extremities. He goes to PT twice a week and we try to do PT at home at least 4 times a week.  This is a temporary issue but is also a complicated, depressing symptom to manage on top of all the other issues.  Due to the pain in his back he can only hold his little girl for a limited time when someone places her on his lap, he can not pick her up.  He is so tired most of the time he sleeps all day so has no time to spend with his wife or daughter.

He has to have immunotherapy infusions monthly as part of his combined chemotherapy treatment so he had a port installed.  We will travel to Houston every other month to see his main oncologist, get scans to see how his treatment is affecting his cancer and he will receive an immunotherapy infusion.  The other month he will receive an infusion here in Tulsa and the Tulsa oncologist will provide guidance and assistance.

3 months ago my brother went from a healthy 38 year old father, husband, head of household providing for his wife and baby girl who at the time was not even 3 months old to a patient with Stage IV renal cell carcinoma that has metastasized to bones, in a wheelchair with a 8% chance of seeing his little girl turn 5 years old.

For those of you who know Jesse, he met his best friend, his partner in life, the wife he has always been searching and waiting for in 2017, they were engaged in 2018, got married in 2019 and they had their beautiful baby girl , Eloise Tess in 2020.

Many people have asked how they could help after hearing this devastating news so we have decided to open up this gofundme page to direct these amazing and special people to.  Your prayers of course would be the most appreciated.

If you would like to assist with any donations large or small, it will all go towards Jesse's medical expenses, travel expenses related  to his diagnosis and meals during this difficult time.

Please share this on social media so others may be become aware and pray and/or donate as they desire.

We will continue to keep you updated as we find out more information.  Thank you to everyone who has reached out already and assisted the family during this time.
