Help Jesse Braunagel Heal: Open Heart Surgery & Recovery

Donation protected
Hey friends, family, and anyone who feels led to help,

I’m putting this together for my brother-in-law Jesse and sister-in-law Heidi. Over the past week, their world has turned upside down.

What began as a cardiology appointment quickly escalated into an emergency hospital stay. Jesse was admitted with severe swelling in his legs and abdomen, and tests revealed that his heart was functioning at only 10-15%. Both sides of his heart have been affected. After multiple days of fluid removal, monitoring, and an angiogram, the doctors determined that Jesse needs open heart surgery, a triple bypass.

Because his local hospital doesn’t have the specialized equipment needed, Jesse was medically flown to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He’s now awaiting an extensive 10+ hour surgery, preceded by a balloon pump procedure to help his heart function during surgery and recovery. He will remain in cardiac ICU post-op and is expected to be hospitalized for at least a week, but they will need to stay close by for several days after release.

As you can imagine, this unexpected health crisis has brought not only emotional and physical stress, but significant financial burdens- travel to and from Mayo, time off work (Jesse will be out of work until at least mid-September), housing and food during Jesse’s hospitalization, and looming medical expenses.

Heidi has been handling everything with so much strength, but they need our help. If you’re able to contribute financially, any amount means the world. More than that, please continue to pray for healing, peace, and strength as Jesse undergoes surgery and begins the long road to recovery.

We’re believing for full healing and for the community around them to be a tangible expression of God’s provision.

Thank you for standing with them.
