After a long saga of will she or won’t she, my car died for good on the way home from Topeka. Thankfully, I had a rental for Colorado & have been able to walk everywhere the last couple days, but I’m really going to be struggling to get around without it. Each day, I’m spending more time and money walking to places or paying for rides, which is only going to make it harder to save up for a replacement.

Not having reliable transportation affects my ability to get my child to school, get myself to work, take care of daily responsibilities, and stay connected with the people who matter most to me.

I’ve always tried to be super independent and handle *all* things on my own, but this situation is overwhelming. I’m doing my best to stay positive and keep moving forward, but the costs are adding up quickly, and we’ve dumped $4,000 in recent months into the car that’s now unsalvageable. I know that having a car again would mean I can better manage my daily life, and focus on building a better future for my kid & myself.
