My name is Jesse, and I am reaching out on behalf of myself and my son, Atlas. After nearly a decade of hard work and dedication to my company, I was laid off without any notice. The news came just a week before rent is due, leaving us completely unprepared and in a very difficult position. We have been living paycheck to paycheck, and now, with no income and rent looming, we are facing the very real threat of eviction. If I am unable to pay our rent, I will be forced to leave the state, which would mean being separated from my son. Atlas is my world, and I am everything to him. The thought of us being apart is devastating for both of us. As a veteran of the OIF/OEF war, I have always tried to manage on my own and do not receive any disability benefits, as I want those resources to go to veterans who need them more. But right now, I am at a loss and have nowhere else to turn. Every penny raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward paying our rent for the month. I am confident that I will find work soon, but we need help to get through this immediate crisis and keep our family together. I am deeply sorry to ask for help when I know there are families and veterans facing even greater challenges, but we are truly stretched beyond our means. This is my last attempt to reach out for support from our community, family, friends, and any veterans who are able to help a fellow veteran in need. If you are unable to donate, I would be so grateful if you could share our story with others who might be able to help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read about our family. I pray that you and your loved ones are blessed, no matter how or if you are able to help. With gratitude, Jesse & Atlas.
