Help Jesse Answer His Call to Ministry

I’ve known Jesse Bullard since 2021 and altogether he has been a staunch believer in the Christian faith. Whether strengthening the community in his college hall or talking to strangers, he has long spread the Gospel wherever he goes and champions the beliefs of the church. As long as I have known Jesse, he has sought some form of divinity school. For a time, he considered an undergrad degree but decided to continue his computer science degree after feeling the call to pastoral ministry in the church.

My first introduction to Jesse was living in the dorm next to him my freshman year of college. It quickly became apparent that he was profoundly passionate about ministry and very knowledgeable about the faith. We often found ourselves engaged in conversations and debates that would last through all hours of the night, discussing any number of theological positions. However, despite any differences held, Jesse is one of the kindest and gentlest individuals I've ever met. No matter who he's speaking to, he is always kind and considerate while still articulating his point.

During his sophomore year, I witnessed Jesse share the Gospel with someone with a very sensitive history. Jesse always remained patient and caring, no matter how complex the situation turned. That year, I also saw him begin meeting regularly with his local pastor many times a week. What started as Jesse probing different beliefs soon turned into him seeking confirmation in the local parish. A few months later, he began discerning his call to the ministry and would soon discover, through the help of his church, that he had received the call to pastoral ministry.

The entire next year, Jesse was devout in his determination to get to seminary. As the excitement grew, he explored more and more about the logistics of actually achieving this great accomplishment. As graduation came and went, Jesse got a job working at his college as a means to save as much money as he could. As he continues to serve on the church council and remain active in his local church body, he faces the monumental task of funding his journey to seminary. He hopes to raise enough support and save enough on his own to start seminary next year. But this would only ever be possible with the support of others.

Jesse may be too humble to ask on his own, but on his behalf, I invite you to prayerfully consider becoming a part of this journey. It is a monumental task for anyone to take on, but I have seen his determination and have no doubt that between his drive, the support of us (the community), and the steadfast and unfailing will of God, we can see him through to captain his own ship.
