On April 23rd, 2025, my husband Jesse and I bought a used 2019 Chevrolet Impala from the dealership in Charleston SC, and with that purchase, we also added the 2 year warranty for extra security. We were told there were zero problems with the car, not even an accident of any kind reported.

Well, on July 24th, 2025, my husband and I were driving to Atlanta for a concert, and in the middle of the highway during busy traffic, the car died and didn't even have a prayer of trying to start back up. We then had to miss the concert we paid for and now cannot get a refund (thank you, Ticketmaster). We also had to leave the car overnight on the side of the road to find a hotel for the night as we had no other transportation and had to wait until morning to get a tow to a nearby dealership.

After paying out of pocket for our tow, despite having a roadside assistance warranty, and taking it to get a diagnosis, we were told the main battery was majorly leaking acid and was definitely a bad battery when we were sold the car. We then tried to reach out to our dealership to get this fixed since the battery should be 100% covered under our warranty. We were told they won't cover it because "well, batteries can technically go at any time, so no one can say if it was already bad or not." We were also denied any opportunity to move the car and fix it ourselves, so we are forced to have it fixed at the dealership in Atlanta that is 240 miles away from home.

So now we have paid out of pocket for a tow, a hotel, Ubers, car rentals back to Atlanta, and now for the battery replacement, which we do not have the funds for. We have made this GoFundMe asking for any help with those costs so we can get this fixed as quickly as possible so my husband can return to work and so we don't fall any further behind on bills from this unfortunate circumstance.
