Help Jess & Nat make memories before goodbyes
Donation protected
I'm Si, and yesterday I like many other people found out that my friend Jessica is out of remission and has relapsed. The horrid disease that is Leukaemia has returned with a vengeance.
There weren't many options for treatment this time, as the particular type of Leukaemia is rather rare, rather strong, and quite frankly rather an arse.
There were basically three choices - try a new treatment involving stem cells which has a high chance of causing disability and a less than 30% chance of success; go onto palliative care and make the most of the time; or do nothing and suffer.
Jess chose to have steroids and palliative care, to manage her journey to the end.
The reason that I have posted this GoFundMe, is because Jessica has a teenage daughter Natalie aged 14, and Natalie has been amazing at helping her Mum get through her illness so far, but Jessica would like to make as many happy memories with Natalie as she can in the time that she has left.
I would like to invite you to dig deep, so that rather than being a carer for the time that is remaining (and the brutally honest truth is we don't know how long that is), Jess and Nat can spend some time together making memories that are better than being "Mum's looker afterer" and will give Natalie something to remember her Mum in a happier way.
Jess & Natalie are huge fans of speedway, and so I further invite you if you are a fan of speedway to do something for Nat and Jess, for all that they have done for speedway
Thank you
Update 18/2/22 - I am totally blown away by the support and level of donations. The initial target was £1500, but I am raising this to £2500 now - thank you so much
