My dad, Richard, spent the last five years bravely battling kidney cancer. He was the kindest man I’ve ever known, someone who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. All he ever dreamed of was making sure the people he loved were cared for, and he worked hard his whole life to make that happen. When he received an inheritance from my Pepa, he used it to buy his very first house, a place that became a true home for him and Jess, my step mom.

Sadly, Richard recently passed away. If he had made it until June, Jess would have received life insurance, but now she’s facing this loss without that safety net. Over the last few weeks, Jess has had to miss work to care for him while he was in hospice, and now she’s struggling to keep up with bills and stay in the home they built together. I want to help her keep the house that meant so much to both of them, so she can have a place to heal and remember him.

Richard always put others first, and I want to continue that legacy by supporting Jess in this difficult time.
