Jess, my sweet German Shepherd and Border Collie mix, has been my emotional support animal and best friend for the past five months. From the moment I adopted her, we formed an unbreakable bond—she’s loving, caring, and the most affectionate companion I could ever ask for. I even started calling her Jellybean because of her joyful spirit, her constant jumping, and her endless cuddles. She’s truly the light of my life and has helped me through some of my toughest days.

A few days ago, my world was turned upside down. I came home to find Jess in her kennel, bleeding and lethargic. At first, I thought it was just an upset stomach, but it quickly became clear that something was terribly wrong. I had recently helped someone out, and unfortunately, they brought things into my home that I didn’t approve of. Jess accidentally got into something harmful, and if I hadn’t come home when I did, she might not have made it. She began bleeding internally, and the lining of her intestines was coming out. It was the scariest moment of my life, and I truly thought I was going to lose her right there in my arms.

Jess is now facing possible liver failure and kidney damage. Her veterinary bill is overwhelming, and I want to do everything I can to give her the care she needs to recover. She’s been there for me every day, and now it’s my turn to be there for her.
