Help Jess Halt Aggressive MS and Reclaim Her Life

Hi, my name is Jess, and I’m reaching out during the most difficult and urgent time of my life.

I was recently diagnosed with aggressive Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS) in April this year, and in just a few short months, everything has changed. I’ve already had 3–4 major relapses, and recent scans show around 36 lesions across my brain and spine. My MS is progressing rapidly and every day, I feel like I’m losing more of my body… and now, even my mind.

Right now, I’m living with constant fatigue, numbness, spasticity, nerve pain, electrical zaps and buzzing, muscle cramps, memory loss, brain fog, bladder issues, vision disturbances, and problems with coordination and balance. It’s overwhelming, terrifying and relentless.

There Is Hope - HSCT

After extensive research and specialist advice, I’ve been approved to receive Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) here in Australia.

HSCT is an intensive medical procedure that involves collecting my own stem cells, using chemotherapy to wipe out my immune system, and then reintroducing the stem cells to reboot my immune system- without MS.

It’s not a cure, but it offers the best chance of halting disease progression with up to a 90% success rate and for many, even reversing some of the damage already done. This treatment gives me hope for a future where I can regain my independence and live without fear of constant decline.

The treatment itself should be covered but the personal cost of preparing for and recovering from HSCT is still significant.

I'm a nurse and a qualified health coach, and I’ve spent my career supporting others in their most vulnerable moments. Helping people heal and thrive has been my life’s calling and now, I find myself needing that same kind of support.

It’s not easy to ask for help, but this is something I can’t do alone.

What I Need

To safely undergo treatment and give myself the best chance at recovery, I need to raise $33,500, which includes:

* $22,500 to cover five months off work (at $4,500/month) during and after treatment

* $6,000 for IVF to preserve fertility before chemotherapy

* $5,000 for essential medical appointments and testing related to HSCT
