Hi, I’m Jess Leyden, a core member of the Great British Rowing Team and have been for the past 7 years. In that time, I have been selected in the top sculling crew boat every year winning World Cup, European and World Championship Bronze medals along the way. Before I joined the Senior team, I was the first British woman to win the title of a World Champion in a single scull when I won gold at the Junior World Championships. Now I want to win the Senior World Championships in the single scull.

I was selected to compete in Tokyo 2020, however, in January 2021 I contracted Covid 19 and wasn’t well enough to be selected to compete in the postponed Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Now my sights are well and truly set on the single scull. I want to start my three-year project for the single scull in Paris 2024. This fundraiser is to help me buy a boat to enable me to train and fulfil this dream.
