Help Jess fund her Internship!
My name is Jess, I am a Law student at The University of Law in Manchester.
As many of you may know, in order for me to succeed in the legal world, I need to obtain as much experience as possible as well as network with as many legal individuals as possible. For 3+ years I have done various placements at solicitors and barristers chambers but recently I was accepted onto the International Bar Association 3 month- internship programme working with the Executive Director, starting in April 2021.
During this internship, I will likely be working on a variety of Human Rights cases and general legal research. All things that will make a substantial difference!
I am incredibly fortunate to be accepted onto such a programme and it is unlikely that I will have an opportunity like is again. I want to be able to take advantage of the opportunities thrown my way and in order to do that I need to be able to finance it.
Unfortunately, in this circumstance this internship is not paid. A grant of £2,000 is offered but I am unable to cover the cost of living in London for three months with this money. With the internship being so close, I am unable to save up the money I need for the placement.
So in a bid to go through with the internship I am going to attempt to fundraise the money by doing various activities. Activities I am planning include sponsored silences (since I cant be quiet at all aha), cycling, running (Anyone who knows me knows i cannot run for my life), selling unused clothes, quiz nights and 'give it up' type activities.
I would really appreciate anything you guys can do to help from £1- £100 it all helps and all matters, even spreading the word will be so beneficial! Thankyou for coming on this journey with me :)
