Help Jess Fight Cancer – A Life of Giving, Now in Need
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Jade, and this is something I never imagined I’d have to write. But life can change in an instant and right now, my best friend Jess needs our help.
Jess has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer: mucinous adenocarcinoma. Tragically, it has already spread to her lungs, ovaries, and scar tissue. She’s scheduled to begin chemotherapy in the coming weeks, but doctors have told her the cancer is unlikely to be curable.
Jess is only 35. She has dreams, plans, and a life built on kindness, compassion, and service to others and now, everything is on pause.
If you know Jess, you already know she’s extraordinary.
Jess isn’t just a friend, partner, daughter, and sister; she’s a force for good. In her twenties, she moved to Calais and helped establish a youth centre for young refugees. A space of safety and hope for those who had lost everything. When she returned to the UK, she became a social worker, dedicating her career to supporting unaccompanied minors: the most vulnerable and most traumatized children in society.
Jess has spent her life fighting for others. Now, it’s our turn to fight for her.
Cancer doesn’t just bring fear, it brings financial strain. Jess is currently signed off work and will receive five months of sick pay. Beyond that, there’s uncertainty. She’s following every recommendation from her doctors, but also hopes to explore complementary therapies to help her manage pain and support her body during this fight. Treatments like acupuncture, turkey tail mushrooms, and other psychological therapies.
That’s why I’ve started this fundraiser: to give Jess the space and support to focus on healing.
Your donation will help Jess:
1. Access complementary therapies and pain management:
To feel stronger, be in less pain, and stay connected to her body and hope.
2. Cover basic living costs:
When sick pay runs out, she’ll still need to pay rent, utilities, and buy food; things no one in the fight of their life should have to worry about.
Please give what you can, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this far and wide can make all the difference. Especially with anyone who’s had the privilege of knowing Jess; because if she’s been part of your life, she’s made it better.
Let’s surround her with love, support, and the resources she needs to fight with everything she’s got.
We believe in you, Jess. We’re with you every step of the way.
With love and deep gratitude,
Jade
