Help Jess Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Note - Please be sure to read the latest updates regarding my condition and care. I found out on 9/3 that I have an advanced stage breast cancer. It is called Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. What it means is the cancer is not driven by hormones and I have to immediately start chemotherapy to protect the rest of my body from this. It has already spread locally and broken through my chest wall. My tumor has grown to 1.5”. To say we were in total shock would be an understatement. Rich and I decided that I would immediately step away from my small business so I can focus 100% on my health and being a mom. So far I have had two rounds of chemotherapy, the current treatment plan is 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy followed by a bilateral mastectomy. Chemo is scheduled for 6 months but with the major surgery and radiation to continue after it could be a year or longer until I am hopefully in remission from this. It’s a lot to process at 33 years old and it hit completely out of the blue. There is no family history of breast cancer in my family. I am asking that everyone please keep us in your thoughts during this time and send me strength to get through this. If you wanted to donate and any amount would help, it would help us keep Dominic in daycare full time so I can focus on treatments and keep some normalcy in our home during this time. All donations will go to the following costs: 1. Daycare (the most important for our family) 2. Groceries 3. FMLA unpaid days (Rich’s unpaid leave days) 4. Medical Expenses or Supplies 5. Jess’s lost wages (help with bills Jess is responsible for) A little bit about who we are, we are residents of a beautiful little community, Sleepy Hollow IL where Rich and I bought the first house we ever looked at almost 8 years ago. We got married in the Dominican Republic in 2017 and had an adorable little boy in 2018, he is 3 1/2 years old now and his name is Dominic. Rich is a state worker but most importantly he served honorably in the Marine Corps from 07-11. Jess (I) have been well known in the community from my small business of 7 years making all kinds of unique, one of a kind furniture items. I immediately had to step away to start chemotherapy however we will be moving out of our shop in Elgin, as soon as we finish the last few items just waiting on paint or stain. Before I started chemotherapy I had to undergo a “pet scan” to check if the cancer had spread to any organs because it is so advanced and aggressive, sadly it revealed that the cancer did in fact spread to lots of my spine, but it is not in my brain or any organs. The discovery of the bones was upsetting but curable and we are just very thankful to have missed everything major.
