Jess B. is not only a mother, friend, loved one, or coworker at Providence, but someone many of us know as a dependable, caring woman who consistently puts others first. Recently, Jess and her three children experienced a devastating loss when their home was completely destroyed by a fire.

The fire happened while Jess was at work — on her daughter’s birthday — turning what should have been a day of celebration into one marked by shock and grief. While her children and most of their pets were able to escape safely, the family tragically lost their cat. The home itself was a complete loss. Everything inside was destroyed or damaged, even treasured family photos that now must be quarantined due to smoke and fire contamination.

Since the fire, Jess and her family have been staying with relatives as they begin the overwhelming process of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. They need support with all essentials — housing, clothing, and everyday household items — because nothing from their home was salvageable.

Jess has always shown up for her patients and her coworkers with care and reliability. Now is an opportunity for our community to show up for her and her family. Any support, in any amount, will help provide stability and comfort as they take the first steps forward after this profound loss.
