Help Jess and Kids Get Stable Housing
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Jess and these are my two beautiful children, Eva and Lyric. I'd like to start this off by saying this is my last resort and I fully understand the enormity of this ask. I have no other way but to ask for help. I pray you can find it in your heart to help me and my children.
Since my cancer diagnosis in November of 2022, my marriage has disintegrated. During the time of my treatment, I was not working, and we were living off of credit cards and the generosity of others. I've been back to work for about a year and a half, but still have not been able to catch up on our debts that were created during that year, resulting in a very low credit score. My hospital bills are over $100,000, and that is even with insurance covering a portion. I am considering bankruptcy and I now need to sell my home because my ex was fired and has been out of work since the end of February. This has created such a heavy weight on me and has affected my mental health to the breaking point. I have been recently looking at moving into a manufactured home. This seems to be the best option for what to do with my portion of the equity that I will receive after splitting it with my ex. But I am stuck. I have a credit score in the low 500s and no savings. I will need a large down payment before I can even be considered and will still need a cosigner for a loan for the remainder and lease of a plot. I have 4 cats and 2 very loud and rambunctious toddlers. An apartment is not a great option and comes with the same, if not more, issues to be in a safe, comfortable living situation for my children and me. I honestly am very concerned that I will become homeless in the very near future. My home is currently on the market and pending. If everything goes through, we will be closing on June 12th, if not sooner.
I humbly ask for your help. Please share my story and keep us in your thoughts. I am scared and have never felt more alone in my life.
