A little less than a month ago, Jessica Jacobs, a single mother of two children and a dear friend to many was involved in a horrible car accident.  Jess suffered a very serious injury to her leg that required multiple surgeries. The injury to her leg was so severe that the surgeons weren’t sure if they were going to be able to save it.  Jess also suffered a broken arm in the accident.  Because of the severity of her injuries, Jess spent 23 days in the hospital and will have to spend many, many more months of intensive rehab to be able to learn to use her leg again. The prognosis is fair, but she isn’t able to bear weight to her leg or walk for at least 6 more months.  Jess is an amazing, single mom of two young kids, she is a very hard worker and has always had multiple jobs to take care of herself and  her kids, but unfortunately she will now be out of work while her leg and body heals.   Her family and friends are doing everything they can to support her during this difficult time, but if we can pull together as a community and as friends to help relieve some of the stress and the financial burden from Jess, this will allow her and her children to stay in their home and heal from this accident.
