My name is Rebecca Gabrielle, and I am fundraising for my friend Jess Sowell who is currently working towards gender affirming top surgery. They have hit a financial block and would really appreciate the help with having enough to pay for their deductible for their surgery and the cost of living through recovery. The majority of the surgery is covered through insurance, and luckily they were able to get it scheduled quickly, but it was also a bit of a sudden surprise on top of difficulties faced due to Covid-19. Their date for surgery is 2/28/22, so it is quickly approaching. 

 

 

 

 

This December, they caught Covid-19 despite being vaccinated and having their booster, they were required to take two weeks off from work with no pay due to a bureaucratic rule. Once they were able to return to work this month, their hours have been cut down to part time (also due to Covid-19 restrictions), largely reducing into their ability to save up for their cost living during the 6 weeks stay-at-home leave required for recovery. They are currently taking on more side hustles to try and make up for the lost income, but the time line is short and really stressful. Honestly, they work so hard, and this has been a devastating blow financially. I want my friend to be able to plan, afford, and take the time that they need to heal and transition without the additional worry of making their rent and bills.

 

 

 

Please help us raise enough for Jess to be able to relax and fully recover without the financial stress. Getting this surgery and having the ability to relax, heal, and fully process is really the biggest goal for Jess. They're the most loving and sweet friend that deserves the world and more, so Jess and I appreciate any assistance that will help realize this goal and affirming process.
