Help Jesenya Recover and Get the Care She Deserves 

Our strong, hardworking, and independent girl needs our help. Jesenya is a fighter. Whether she is pushing heavy weights at the gym, working behind the bar with a smile, or chasing her dreams of joining the local union as a heavy machinery apprentice, she has always full of energy and determination. She was set to start her dream job this month, something she had been waiting six months for, but everything changed in an instant.

In February, Jesenya was involved in a car accident that should have been just a minor setback. But soon after, she began experiencing numbness, weakness, and loss of feeling in her legs and lower body. It quickly worsened to the point where she struggled to walk, move her toes, and even control her bladder.

What started as accident-related pain spiraled into a serious medical crisis, leaving doctors searching for answers. After multiple hospital stays, MRIs, a spinal tap, and neurological tests, doctors have found inflammation in her spine and brain, but we still do not have a clear diagnosis. What we do know is that Jesenya cannot work, drive, or live her normal life right now, and she has a long road ahead of her.

To make things even harder, her hospital stay was processed as an auto injury, meaning she is not eligible for emergency Medicaid at this time. Even though she does have injuries from the accident, her most concerning symptoms are neurological and medical in nature. Medicaid requires the car insurance to officially deny her claim before she can even apply for coverage. At this point, we have no idea what the insurance will decide or how long that process will take, leaving her without access to medical coverage for continued care. 

How You Can Help 

We are rallying around Jesenya to support her in every way we can. As her mom, I will be her full-time caretaker, with her sister helping whenever possible while her dad works to support our family. But without her ability to work, she has no income to cover her car payment, medical expenses, or basic living costs. Every dollar donated will go toward specialist visits and ongoing medical care, physical therapy and rehabilitation, medications and necessary treatments, and basic living expenses while she is unable to work, including rent, car payments, and groceries. 

Jesenya is a fighter, and we are fighting for her. We are scared, but we are moving in faith. She is determined to regain her strength and independence, but she cannot do it alone. If you can donate, no amount is too small, and if you cannot, please share her story to help us reach those who can.
