My name is Jes and I am thankful that you are considering donating to my medical fundraiser.

I am a mother to an exceptional daughter, and a Grandmother tof three. And here I am, doing something I never wanted to do. But this is QUITE LITERALLY MY LIFE OR DEATH, so I need to swallow my pride, even though I got myself into this.

The "TV Guide Version" of this is that I have been diagnosed with End-Stage Decompensated Liver Cirrhosis. The prognosis from most doctors and studies indicate that I have about 38% chance of living the next year and a half WITHOUT a full liver transplant. My small support team is amazing, and I am taking the necessary steps to qualify, including remaining completely sober and a never-ending circle of appointments and hospitalizations. 

Thank goodness I am insured and a good candidate for receiving the amazing gift from a donor that could save my life, but there are many requirements. One of these is a financial assessment. They will want to know that I can pay for pre-treatment medications, housing within 50 miles of the hospital before surgery (because the call to surgery is a tight timeframe), housing the same distance for six to eight weeks post-surgery in the event of any complications, and for post-surgery anti-rejection medication. 

Many hospitals require that candidates make fundraising efforts to show the funds are there to help offset the costs, and that is why I am doing this Go Fund Me.
