Our hearts are all heavy as everyone’s favorite son, brother and friend is fighting to recover from a devastating stroke. Jerry suffered 2 stokes which left Jerry fighting for his life in the ICU, causing paralysis on the complete right side of his body, he has limited speech and ability to articulate normal daily activities.
Jeni and Jerry flew into Washington state to celebrate their daughter’s best friend’s wedding, they had become like parents to her, while at the rehearsal dinner on August 20, 2021 Jerry suffered a stroke, 911 was called and while in the ambulance Jerry suffered a 2nd, life altering stroke. Before the strokes Jerry was happy talking and laughing with everyone and then he was fighting for his life, just like that in an instant life has changed for him, his family, and friends as we rally together to help in any way we can. His wife Jeni has been informed, by doctors, that he is not able to travel for at least a year, he must live in a stress-free environment for 6-months to a year or it could trigger another stroke or worse. This means going back to their home in New Mexico is NOT an option. Jeni is desperately trying to find a place to live that is accommodating for a wheelchair, figuring out how to get their stuff here to Washington State (clothes, household items, furniture, their vehicle, etc.), they were only planning on being here for 4 days, all while trying to be by his side during his recovery, your donation could help ease this burden as Jerry was the main source of income for them.
Jerry is the strongest and most persistent person I know and he is determined on making a slow but steady recovery. With an uncertain future ahead, The Thompson family could use every one of you to help support their countless hours at the hospital, his life at the rehabilitation center, medical bills, and relocation expenses. This family is strong, and Jerry is stronger. He will get through this with the help of all of you, and his angels watching over him. Anything helps as Jerry is facing an optimistic, yet long road to recovery.
Your donation will help Jerry to be able to focus on in his recovery, physical and occupational therapy sessions, Dr visits and additional screenings needed, medicines, their relocation expenses like a moving truck, a home to live in and things they’ll need to modify and handicap proof for his safety like shower chair, toilet riser, handrails and doorknobs etc amongst other things he’ll need. It will also cover medical expenses and bills which they are most worried about. You all know how it goes... bills do not go away... they do not care if you’re sick or having a family emergency. They just want to be paid.
We’re expecting his expenses to be a lot more than what they’d like to raise but if their goal is reached, it would be a huge relief and a lot of weight off their shoulders... No donation is too small. And if you’re unable to donate, you can still help by please taking a moment to share this Gofundme page to possibly reach more people who may be able to.
Please keep Jerry, Jeni, their family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so very much for your support. ❤️
