Help a Retired Veteran Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
On Easter Sunday, April 5th 2026, our Dad experienced an unimaginable loss.
A sudden house fire destroyed the home of Jerry Mason, a retired member of the U.S. Army/ National Guard who has spent a lifetime serving others. Thankfully, he is safe, however, the home and nearly everything inside it were lost.
Tragically, the fire also claimed the life of his beloved dog, Beau, making this loss even more heartbreaking.
This home was more than just a house, it had been in the family and Jerry’s life since 1971 and was over 100 years old, filled with decades of memories that can never be replaced.
To make matters even more difficult, there was no homeowners insurance in place. This means starting over from nothing.
Jerry is currently living on a fixed income from a military pension and Social Security, making it extremely challenging to recover from a loss of this magnitude without help.
We’ve created this fundraiser to support immediate and essential needs, including:
• Replacing critical medications
• Clothing and personal items
• Dog food/pet needs for his other 3 dogs (Bella, Annabelle, and Bubba)
• Temporary housing
• Basic daily necessities
Longer term, funds will also help with securing stable housing and beginning the process of rebuilding a safe place to live.
If you know Jerry, you know his character as hardworking, humble, and always willing to help others. Now he needs our help.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Jerry begin again.
