Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and urgent hope for your support. Our beloved Jerry Bagita has recently been diagnosed with Coronary Heart Disease – Triple Vessel Disease, a serious and life-threatening condition. His doctors have advised that he needs Urgent Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) surgery to survive.
Medical Journey So Far
On 19 th June 2025, Jerry was presented with a possible Myocardial Infarction or basically a “Heart Attack” and was held overnight for observation. Then on the 20 th of June, he was referred to the Senior Intervention Cardiologist, Dr. Boko at Port Moresby General Hospital where he was diagnosed with Suspected Angina Pectoris which is chest pains or discomfort caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle typically due to coronary artery disease. He was placed on a drug regime for 3-weeks.
Jerry was then referred on the 28 th July for an Angiogram to determine the extent of the diagnosis, which confirmed that he is suffering from Triple Vessel Disease (Coronary Heart Disease) and was recommended for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Surgery.
Between the 8 th to 16 th of August, Jerry was admitted to ward 8, Port Moresby General Hospital for a full pre-surgery evaluation. During this time, he was reviewed by a Visiting Surgical Team from Singapore, who assessed the complexity of his case. Unfortunately, they determined that due to the high-risk nature of his condition—and the lack of essential post-operative care facilities, particularly the Cardiac ICU Unit at Port Moresby General Hospital—Jerry cannot safely undergo surgery in Port Moresby.
A Chance at Life in New Delhi, India
The attending physician, in consultation with the surgical team, strongly recommended
that Jerry undergo the procedure as soon as possible in New Delhi, India, where proper
cardiac ICU and post-op care facilities are available. This is his best—and possibly
only—chance at survival. However, the cost of the surgery, travel, and medical care in India is approximately PGK 80,000, which is well beyond what our family can afford on our own.
How You Can Help
We are humbly asking for your help to raise the PGK 80,000 needed to cover Jerry's:
- Cardiac Bypass Surgery (CABG)
- Post-operative Intensive Care
- Travel and accommodation expenses
- Pre- and post-surgery medical support
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will go a long way in giving Jerry a second
chance at life. Even if you're unable to donate, please share this page with your networks. Spreading the word is just as valuable.
About Jerry
For those who know Jerry, you know he is a kind, humble, and loving man. He has
always been there for others in their time of need. Now, he needs our support more
than ever.
Let’s come together as a community to help him fight this battle and get the life-saving
treatment he urgently needs.
Please help us give Jerry the chance to live.
With gratitude,
The Bagita Family
