Our family is asking for help during an incredibly challenging time.
My husband, Jerry, recently had to undergo an emergency second surgery due to complications and unknown at this time infection. His recovery has been difficult, and his doctors have recommended a wound vac to properly heal his surgical wound and prevent further complications. Unfortunately, our insurance company, United Health Care, has not provided coverage for the necessary equipment for this critical treatment. They say decisions made are made in 15 business days and appeals in 120 days. Last night the surgeon removed the wound vac due to the insurances lack of timely cooperation and discharged him from the hospital. He was so kind to us during this difficult decision.
We are already facing over $8,000 in out-of-pocket medical expenses. The wound vac and necessary supplies are estimated to cost around $100 per day for approximately 8 weeks—adding even more financial strain during an already overwhelming time.
Jerry has also been out of work for the past 5 weeks, and we still don’t know when he will be able to return. This loss of income, combined with mounting medical bills, has put our family in a very difficult position.
Many of you know Jerry and his journey. He has already fought and beaten two types of cancer and has been cancer-free for over a year. Through every challenge, he has remained strong in his faith, positive in spirit, and determined to inspire others who may be facing their own battles.
Now, he needs support!
If you are able to donate, any amount—big or small—this will go directly toward his medical care, healing and expenses. If you’re not in a position to give, we completely understand and would be so grateful if you could share this page to help spread Jerry’s story.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, support, and kindness during this time.
