On January 6, 2026, our family received devastating news. Gerald Fuller, known as “Jerry” to all who know and love him, was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate and bladder cancer. This diagnosis has completely turned his life and the life of his wife, Kristen, upside down.
Due to the severity and aggressiveness of the cancer, Jerry will need major surgery today (January 9, 2026) to remove his prostate, bladder, and ureter, along with some lymph nodes. Because of the specific nature of his cancer, chemotherapy is not an option. He will have to get radiation treatments five days a week.
In addition to what lies ahead, medical bills have already begun piling up from extensive testing and previous procedures, and the costs will only continue to grow as he begins treatment.
Because of surgery, radiation, and recovery, Jerry will be missing a significant amount of work, resulting in a major loss of income during an already overwhelming time. While Jerry focuses on fighting for his life, everyday expenses and responsibilities do not stop.
As if this were not enough, Jerry is also a Type 1 diabetic, meaning he relies on daily insulin and diabetic supplies to survive. Between cancer treatment, diabetes management, mounting medical bills, and being unable to work, the financial strain on Jerry and Kristen has become immense.
Funds raised will help cover every aspect of their essential needs, including:
- Medical bills from testing, prior procedures, surgery, and radiation
- Insulin and diabetic supplies
- Mortgage payments
- Groceries and food for the table
- Utility bills and other essential household expenses
- Basic living costs while Jerry is unable to work
Asking for help is never easy, but right now, Jerry and Kristen need their community's support more than ever. Every donation, no matter the size, will help relieve the financial burden and allow Jerry to focus on what truly matters: fighting this cancer and healing.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Jerry and Kristen in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with Jerry during this incredibly difficult time.
