Hello, my name is Kasia and this is the story of my best friend, Jerry!

“Messi with a tail,” world-class ball chaser, and the people-loving heart of my family.

Jerry is an 8-year-old Pomeranian–Border Collie mix who has spent his whole life spreading joy… usually while dribbling a ball. He once joined a kids’ football match and completely stole the show — passing, goalkeeping, scoring, and charming everyone. One kid shouted, “He’s Messi with a tail!” Jerry still walks like he’s expecting a transfer offer.

He absolutely loves people. Dogs? Not as much — mostly because they keep trying to steal his ball, which he considers a serious crime. He lives with three cats, growls like one, and believes every human he meets is his new best friend.

But recently Jerry tore the cruciate ligament in his back leg. He’s in pain, struggling to walk, and can’t play his favourite game. He keeps nudging his ball toward us, confused why we won’t kick it back — and it breaks my heart.

The good news? There is hope. With TPLO surgery, the vet says Jerry can make a full recovery and go back to living his joyful, ball-obsessed life. The surgery and aftercare cost around £3,900. My insurance can cover up to £1,000, so we’re asking for help to raise the remaining amount.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings Jerry closer to running again, smiling again (yes, he actually smiles), and being the happy, silly little athlete he’s always been.
