My father, Jerry Anderson, age 78, is a hardworking, kind man who has spent most of his life giving his all to others. For 27 years, he worked faithfully for the Talk of Paris radio show, helping keep the program running day in and day out. It wasn’t just a job to him — it was his life’s work. Throughout those years, he worked reliably and with pride, earning minimum wage with no benefits, yet never complaining and always giving his best.
Like many long-time radio professionals, he was ultimately released in April 2025 —not because of his work ethic or dedication, but due to station funding cuts and the steady decline in radio listenership. His Talk of Paris show was canceled, and he lost his radio career that spanned over 50 years.
After losing his career, he did everything he could to keep going. Despite his age, he took on physically demanding jobs such as dishwashing and restaurant cleanup, determined to support himself. Unfortunately, the physical demands became too much, and he was unable to keep up with the workload.
Now, he is facing his biggest challenge yet.
He has recently been diagnosed with melanoma on his foot and is currently exploring treatment options. This diagnosis has made it hard for him to work at a time when he needs support the most. Along with medical bills, he also needs urgent roof and home repairs to keep his house safe and livable.
My dad is not someone who asks for help easily. He is proud, dependable, and has always believed in working hard for what he has. But right now, he truly needs a helping hand.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
*Medical expenses
*Necessary roof and home repairs
*Basic living expenses since he is unable to work
Every donation—no matter the size—will help relieve some of the burden he is carrying and allow him to focus on what truly matters: his health and recovery.
Please consider sharing this fundraiser. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than words can express.
Thank you for helping and supporting my father during this incredibly difficult time.
