Our dear friend Jerry Mitre was recently involved in a severe car accident in his hometown of El Paso while home for the holidays. He is currently in critical condition and receiving intensive medical care. This has been an incredibly difficult and overwhelming time for Jerry and for everyone who knows and loves him.
The following comes from one of Jerry’s cousins.:
“On Tuesday morning in Horizon City, our family’s lives were changed forever due to a serious car accident caused by reckless speed involving Beto Rascon, his wife Maria Rascon, and her son Jerry.
All three sustained significant injuries. Beto suffered rib fractures. Maria endured two broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, and multiple injuries. Jerry’s condition was critical, requiring multiple surgeries for internal bleeding. At this time, two of them remain in the ICU, and the other is still hospitalized recovering.
Because of their injuries, they are unable to work, and their only vehicle was completely totaled. Beto’s phone was also destroyed in the accident, adding to the hardship during this difficult time.
Funds raised will help with medical bills, lost income, purchasing a vehicle, and general recovery needs.”
Jerry is one of the most generous, supportive, and kind people many of us have ever known. He is truly one of a kind—someone who shows up for others without hesitation, offers help without being asked, and brings warmth and positivity into every space he enters.
As Jerry fights to recover, the medical bills are quickly adding up—from emergency treatment and hospital care to ongoing procedures and rehabilitation. No one should have to face this kind of financial stress while also worrying about healing and survival.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help support Jerry and his family during this incredibly challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward medical expenses and help ease the burden so his loved ones can focus on being by his side.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.
Thank you for coming together to support Jerry and give back to someone who has given so much to all of us.
