We are heartbroken to share that my beloved brother, Derwayne Mackey, passed away unexpectedly on 2/19/2025.

Derwayne who tragically passed at the age of 54, struggled with mental health challenges throughout his life. While he was physically well, mental illness takes a significant toll. Before succumbing to these struggles, Derwayne was a talented musician, composer, and lover of poetry, with a gift for creating beautiful songs.

He leaves behind two children, twins—a boy and a girl—two siblings, and his mother. The family was unprepared for his passing, and we are still awaiting autopsy results to understand why Derwayne was taken from us so soon.

We are asking for your help to give him the proper send-off he deserves. Your support means everything to us during this difficult time.
