Jerid and his family have been a blessing to their neighborhood and beyond. I first met Jerid when I moved my family into his community—he saw me struggling to dig out a tree stump, went home to get better tools, and spent over an hour helping me, a complete stranger at the time. That’s just who Jerid is. On a daily basis, whether he’s on his way to a job or heading home, Jerid stops to help someone in need. He’ll see an elderly man on a ladder trying to clean his gutters and take his place, or notice someone struggling with heavy loads and offer his work trailer to haul them to the landfill. He gives freely of his time and skills, never expecting anything in return. Hundreds along the Wasatch front—widows, widowers, single mothers, his own siblings and mother—have been served by Jerid’s kindness.
Now, Jerid and his family are facing a tough time. He owns his own tree removal and care business, but during the winter months, work is scarce. On January 6th, his work truck’s transmission died and the truck became unusable. Without a savings to fall back on, Jerid is unable to purchase a replacement vehicle, which puts his business and his family’s well-being at risk. The funds raised here will go directly toward buying a reliable used truck so Jerid can keep working, supporting his family, and continuing to serve the community he loves.
I’m starting this GoFundMe without Jerid or his family's knowledge, hoping that those who have been touched by his generosity—or anyone moved by his story—will consider helping. Any support you can give will make a real difference for Jerid and his family. Thank you for your kindness and for helping us rally around a true friend and neighbor.
