Jeremy and Trisha are friends I met through community events, and Jeremy serves as the manager of our local food cooperative market, where I have the privilege of serving on the board. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how much they give back to our town, dedicating countless hours to support the recreation commission and making a real difference in the lives of so many neighbors.

Last fall, Jeremy suffered a serious fall and broke his wrist, which required two surgeries. While they have insurance for their children and for Trisha, Jeremy himself is uninsured. The medical expenses quickly piled up—every test, X-ray, and procedure required upfront payment. To cover these costs, Jeremy and Trisha maxed out every credit card and used every dollar of their savings. Despite their best efforts, the bills kept coming, and the financial strain has become overwhelming.

Because Jeremy was out of work during his recovery, and with all their savings and credit exhausted, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Now, they’re facing the very real threat of foreclosure, all while raising three young sons. Jeremy has always been there for everyone else, but now he and his family need our help. He’s lost hope for how to get out of this hole, but I believe our community can rally together to make a difference. No one deserves to lose their home because of an accident and lack of insurance.
