Hey everyone —
Some sad news. Our friend Jeremy Savian, a great hockey player, skilled cabinet maker, and all-around good person, lost his workshop and livelihood in the Red Hook warehouse fire last Thursday night. The fire was massive — the entire building was engulfed, and many artists and woodworkers lost everything: their tools, much of their inventory, years of work.
Jeremy’s workshop was one of them. He’s not just losing a workspace—he’s losing a place where he created, where he invested time, skill, and pride. The tools, the materials, the unfinished work, everything that lets him do what he loves—it was all at risk or destroyed. Many of you have witnessed his work firsthand in your own spaces.
We want to come together to try to help Jeremy get back on his feet: to replace tools, help with rent (security deposits) or rebuilding costs, and give him some support so he can do what he does best again. If you can, even a small donation helps — and if you can share this with others, that helps too.
Thanks everyone for any help.
Bernie
