Help Jeremy Montoya's Recovery
Donation protected
Tuesday, January 28th, was definitively the worst day of our lives. It’s the day my babies almost lost their Dad, and I almost lost my Bear. Luckily for all of us, Jeremy Montoya is Super Human! He’s a fighter, survivor, surgery ass kicker, and nowhere near ready to leave us. The last three weeks have been hell for him, and although he still has quite the uphill battle, he has handled it all with so much strength, perseverance, and kindness. He’s all the nurse’s favorite patient, and at this point, he’s had over 40 of them, so that’s saying a lot! Even in this difficult time, we feel so blessed to have such an incredible village of family and friends, especially my mom; we would all be lost without her. They keep me thankful, and lord knows there is much to be thankful for. I’m thankful I still get to hear my kids talk to their dad, thankful I still get to hold Jeremy’s hand and look at his handsome bearded face, and thankful for Baylor and its incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses, techs, therapists, and everyone in between that have kept him both alive and as comfortable as possible. Jeremy may still be stuck in the hospital and then headed to inpatient rehab, and yes, it sucks not to know when he will get to come home, but despite all the blows, he continues to fight! Yes, I’m stressed trying to balance the kids and all their emotions, be there for Jeremy, and deal with financial issues and my anxiety about going back to work and what the future looks like, but you know what…we will get through this and be stronger for it! The kids will always remember that their dad isn’t just a regular dad but a Super Human Super Dad who defeated the odds and fought to LIVE for THEM!
