“Help Me Keep a Roof Over My Head While I Rebuild My Life”

I never imagined I would be sharing a story like this, but today I am reaching out because I have run out of options and as a single father I’m not afraid to say I need help.

Over the last two years, I have been struggling to find stable employment despite applying for countless positions, attending interviews, and doing everything I can to get back on my feet. What I thought would be a temporary setback turned into one of the most difficult periods of my life.

During this time, my family experienced heartbreaking losses. I lost both my stepfather and my brother. In the midst of grief, I stepped up to help cover funeral expenses because I wanted to ensure they were laid to rest with dignity and respect. While I would do it again for my loved ones, the financial burden left me with significant debt that I am still trying to overcome.

As the months passed, my unemployment benefits ran out. I exhausted my savings, sold personal belongings, and used every resource available to stay afloat. I also received rental assistance in the past, but because I have already used that program, I am not eligible to receive help again for the next two years.

Today, I am facing the possibility of losing my home. What makes this so difficult is that I am not giving up. Every day, I continue searching for employment and pursuing opportunities that will allow me to become financially independent again. I am determined to rebuild my life, but right now I need help making it through this crisis.

The funds raised will help me:

Avoid eviction and homelessness

Pay rent and essential utilities

Purchase groceries and basic necessities

Address debt related to funeral expenses

Maintain transportation and communication needed for my job search

Asking for help is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I have always believed in working hard and taking care of my responsibilities. But sometimes life brings challenges that are bigger than what one person can carry alone.
